Chris Weitz has revealed that his new film New Moon won't overuse actor Robert Pattinson.
The book follows Bella as her vampire lover Edward Cullen leaves her in Forks, appearing through most of the story as a figment of Bella's imagination.
The actor admitted that he had to find the right blend of staying true to Stephenie Meyer's popular novel as well as satisfying the army of Pattinson fans.
In an interview with MTV the director said: "[We wanted to avoid] just randomly inserting Rob throughout the movie in a back-at-the-ranch sort of way, which would just be about box office and us being worried about whether people would deal with the darkness of the second book.
"People are actually very ready for [the dark] aspect of it."
"You'll see quite a lot of Rob in the film, but it's seen subjectively, through Bella's eyes. It's also in dreams that she has of him as well.
"It strikes this very fine balance between too much Rob and too little Rob... Well, I know for a lot of people there's no such thing as too much Rob.
"But we've got a nice dose of Taylor to sweeten any Rob deficiencies. It is a disease that can only be treated with Vitamin T, for Taylor."
Robert the new James Dean, Marlon Brando
Posted by Simone on 24 Aug 2009
Robert Pattinson has captured the hearts of an untold number of fans with his portrayal of Edward Cullen in “Twilight.”
Rob’s brooding good looks and the film, about eternal love and teen angst, are strikingly similar to two monumental teen idols from previous generations – James Dean and Marlon Brando - who starred in similar movies.
Every other generation or so, an actor comes along who captures the imagination of their contemporaries. Brando and Dean were those actors in the 1950s.
Rob is having the same breakout success as they did. Ironically, both Brando and Dean became international sensations in coming-of-age movies about teenage angst in tumultuous times.
What makes them so alike and what makes them different?
Dean, a relative unknown, vaulted to fame in “East of Eden,” a film based on a novel by Nobel Laureate John Steinbeck. He played the troubled son of a farmer in a story loosely based on the Biblical tale of Cain and Abel.
His performance in the film foreshadowed his role as Jim Stark in “Rebel Without A Cause”which has parallels to “Twilight.” Both characters are angst-ridden, and misunderstood outcasts, trying to find themselves.
In “Rebel Without a Cause,” a 1955 film, Dean’s 17-year-old character, is a new to town. He’s moody and alienated, and different from than the others in his high school much like Edward Cullen.
He meets, Judy, played by Natalie Wood,, a budding actress who would go on to international fame and must confront the school bullies.
The film was an attempt to portray the moral decay of American youth with a focus on parents who failed to assert moral discipline. But it was also about the pressure to conform and about being different – two themes that also appear in “Twilight.”
Has Eclipse fresh face Xavier Samuel fallen under the spell of a charismatic vampire?
Sure, his character Riley gets drawn into Victoria's crusade against Bella, but judging from his casually sexy look here, the Aussie actor could be channeling the fashion choices of Robert Pattinson, aka Edward Cullen.
Not a bad choice, considering R.Pattz's popularity. But who knows, maybe the guy—who's already caught the eye of some—is just wearing dressed-in-Vancouver casual.
What do you think?
He's totally copying him.

ROB: TWITTER RUINED MY LIFE!
Posted by Simone on 17 Aug 2009
Actor Robert Pattinson is followed everywhere by a legion of devoted crazy fans but social networks like Twitter have literally turned his life into hell. And no, Robert does NOT have a Twitter account!
Robert said, “Because of internet stuff and Twitter, there will be a crowd if you are in a place for more than half an hour…I’ve learned never to stay in the same place for more than 20 minutes.”
“The biggest challenge is coping with the crowds,” he added. “I am a quiet, private person. It’s strange. You have to change a little bit. Walking down the street comes with screaming.”
That is the price of fame for Robert. He is a big part of something that has become a larger than life phenomenon: one day he was nobody, the next day he is Edward Cullen of the Twilight Saga.
ROB IN YOUNGBLOOD?
Posted by Simone on 17 Aug 2009
Director Brett Ratner is attached to direct/produce a movie based on the comic Youngblood and has said he thinks Robert Pattinson would be great for the character Shaft.
“Definitely Robert Pattinson from ‘Twilight,’” He just feels like he belongs in that world. I don’t only see him as a vampire, he’s a really good actor.”
“Pattinson could do anything. He just has that look,” states Ratner. “I picture him on Youngblood, for sure.”
Youngblood is a group of superheroes sorta X-Men lite. Shaft is an ex-FBI man who is an archer. Sounds dull, lame, bad and everything else when Ratner is attached. Ratner had glowing things to say about Pattinson but let’s be honest, Rob is the hottest actor right now and every director or producer who wants a built in audience will court him for their film.
